In the wake of NBC-branded Ann Curry’s commencement speech gaffe (uncertainty about which Wheaton College she was really addressing, there’s one in Massachusetts and one in Illinois), here are some thoughts for our news brethren from a regular-guy flack:

Everyone in a coat and tie who works in an office building is not an executive.  If I’m 22 years old, it’s my first day on the job working as a file clerk at XYZ Company and I wear a tie to work, am I an executive?  If a reporter from channel Z catches you in front of the building while it’s burning and talks with you, you are. Judson's Maker's Mark Barrel Dedication Certificate

About 16 months ago my wife and I were blessed with a beautiful baby daughter, and in a few short months I’ll be a proud papa again. Now I find out that I have another “newborn” I didn’t know about … my very own barrel of Maker’s Mark bourbon. (more…)

When I travel to new cities for business I often try to squeeze in time to see some of the local sights. I ascended the Arch in St. Louis, walked the Riverwalk in San Antonio and even found a little Civil War monument in Warner-Robins, Ga., on past trips.

So last week I found myself in a little different role – that of tour guide in showing off Milwaukee to three out-of-town guests. They were here as part of Dorner Manufacturing’s media tour to launch its new DustPruf Series conveyors. (more…)

LePoidevin Marketing 2010 BMA Bell and Excellence Awards

LePoidevin Marketing earned four awards at the 2010 Business Marketing Association (BMA) – Milwaukee Chapter Bell Awards. The agency earned awards for product advertising and branding/corporate identification programming at the event held April 29^th.

The agency earned two Bell Awards, the BMA’s highest category awards, for a single business-to-business advertisement for LiteSteel Technologies, a manufacturer of cold-rolled structural steel beams; and for the branding/corporate identification program initiated for Arenus, a manufacturer of nutritional supplements for the equine market.
